Men’s Golf Clothing

Whether your taste in golf clothing emulates the colourful choices of Ian Poulter or the more conservative selections of Paul Casey or Monty it will have no effect on your golf game because colour and style of men’s golf clothing is more a stamp of your own personality and it is the functionality of men’s golf clothing that could impact on your game.

Men’s golf clothing must be unrestrictive and allow freedom of movement during a golf game. The smooth flow of your shots should never be hindered by your choice of golf clothes.

Playing golf in the summer months requires men’s golf clothing  to be created from  a lightweight material, which not only, allows free movement, but,  which wicks perspiration away from the body, which allows the golfer to maintain a  constant temperature.

Unfortunately, with our British climate, windproof and waterproof men’s golf clothing could form an essential part of a golfer’s wardrobe during the summer months as well as winter months.

During the winter months golf clothes should keep a golfer dry, protected from the elements and, of course, warm. Lamb’s wool sweaters, waterproof trousers, jackets and windproof shirts come into their own during the colder golfing months (in the UK, occasionally that could be September through to June). Conversely, a lamb’s wool sweater is an ideal garment for summer or winter because it insulates your body, cooling on hotter days and warming on colder ones.

It is important to wear golf clothing made from breathable material, which helps to regulate your temperature. Try playing golf in synthetic materials which are not breathable and you will, quickly, become overheated, start to perspire and as a consequence will suffer from slower circulation which will cause you to tire more easily.

The top names in men’s golf clothing manufacture rigorously test their clothing materials to meet the exacting standards expected of all levels of golfers and incorporate the latest in innovative material technology to ensure that their golf clothing meets or exceeds the requirements for soft, flexible, lightweight, breathable, wind and waterproof golfing garments, that perform in whatever conditions our British weather throws at them.

Whatever your clothing  says about your personality Golfbuyitonline, with their extensive range of men’s golf clothing from all the leading brands,  is sure to be able to help you get noticed for your cool poise, even if sometimes your own golf game is likely to cause you to get a bit hot under the collar.

GoneToPlayGolf.com is a bold new website that seeks to revitalize golfers and the sport of golf with a comprehensive online resource for equipment, instructional tools and advice. Website founder and golf enthusiast John Vanous sat down to discuss the innovations behind his website, as well as a new blog designed with a golfer’s needs in mind.

Danbury, WI (PRWEB) September 10, 2009 — John Vanous, founder of www.GoneToPlayGolf.com, has been a golfer for more than forty years, and after spending a significant portion of his life golfing, feels he has a lot to share with other golfers.

“I live on a golf course in Wisconsin, but I travel all over the U.S. to different courses depending on the season,” said Vanous. “I’ve learned a lot about the game of golf, and while I wouldn’t call myself a professional, I definitely have the experience.”

Vanous designed his website through a careful process of product selection, and in turn created an online resource for golf equipment as well tools for training. “Golfers will find golf clubs, shoes, bags, balls, apparel and much more on the website,” said Vanous. “I’d also like for the website to become a place where golfers can find tips.”

In order to create a convenient medium for golfers to find information and advice, Vanous launched a new blog at www.GolfEquipmentChatter.com.

“One of the main features of the blog will be equipment reviews, because there’s nothing worse than spending an arm and a leg on an inferior set of golf clubs or another high ticket item,” said Vanous. “I’ll also be discussing more general golf strategies, like how golfers can improve their swing, and which golf balls work the best.”

While Vanous has focused his efforts on creating an ideal resource for golfers, he also intends for his website and blog to be oriented around his customers.

“On both the website and blog I want to keep in tune with what golfers want,” said Vanous. “If there is a certain piece of equipment or bit of information my customers want, I’ll do my best to have it available.”

History of Polo Shirts and Golf Shirts That Are Favorite Uniforms and Promotional Items in Tampa FL

Polo shirts and golf shirts, like custom t shirts and embroidered shirts, are favorite uniforms and promotional items in Tampa FL. But do you know how they came to be?

Acually, polo shirts and golf shirts are almost identical. They are also sometimes called tennis shirts. Obviously, this is because they were, and still are, used by players of these sports around the world and here in Tampa FL. The same articles of clothing are also often referred to simply as t-shirts, or even tee shirts. The former may be because they are often made of the same material as collarless t-shirts, and the latter may be slang or a reference to golf shirts. In any case, all of them are very popular as casual wear in Tampa FL. They are so popular, in fact, that there are many wholesale t shirt suppliers in Tampa FL.

What we call polo shirts or golf shirts today are short sleeved pullovers with a soft collar and buttons at the neck opening. They often come in cotton knit material but also in several blends of soft materials.

The first such shirt was designed by the French tennis champion Rene Lacoste in 1926 for the US Open championship. Previously, tennis players wore white long sleeved button-up shirts with ties and flannel trousers on the court, merely rolling up their sleeves to play. Lacoste’s shirt was much more comfortable and quickly became popular. By 1927, he added the crocodile emblem on the left breast of the shirt to acknowledge the nickname “Crocodile” which the US press gave him. After Lacoste retired from professional tennis in 1933, he began to mass produce and market his shirts under the Lacoste brand.

When Lacoste’s tennis shirt became popular, polo players started to wear it for their sport, too. Before then, polo players traditionally wore long-sleeved shirts made of thick Oxford cotton with a button-down collar. Ironically, the tennis shirt soon came to be better known as the polo shirt. This name was further popularized when American designer Ralph Lauren launched his Polo brand which also featured shirts of the same design but this time sporting an emblem of a polo player on the left breast.

Golf wear followed the path taken by tennis wear and polo garb. Golf players also took to wearing what was already being called the polo shirt. What became known as the golf shirt, however, had a slight variation in design. Whereas the polo shirt usually had a soft collar made of one-ply ribbed knit cotton, the golf shirt had a stitched collar made of a double-layer of the same fabric as the shirt’s body, often mercerized cotton, polyester, or a cotton and polyester blend. The golf shirt also had a longer neckline plaque with three to four buttons whereas the polo shirt usually had only two to three.

Since then, the polo shirt and golf shirt have evolved into many minor variations but have retained their basic features. They are now commonly worn as casual wear by men and women alike, and are even deemed acceptable as “business casual” wear for more informal industries. In fact, they are even being used as uniforms in many technical firms, retail firms, hotels and resorts, health centers, as well as schools.

When polo shirts or golf shirts are used as uniforms or promotional items, they often include embroidery of the company, school or organization’s logo or emblem. Companies that supply wholesale t shirts often supply polo shirts and golf shirts, as well as embroidered shirts and custom t shirts, in Tampa FL. It looks like these articles of clothing are here to stay.

A Beginner’s Guide to Golf Clothing

A Beginner’s Guide To Golf Clothing

When selecting a new item of golf clothing you should always take into consideration the dress code or restrictions of your local golf club or course. A more obvious but sometimes overlooked factor is the expected weather conditions across the duration of the game – from a quick nine holes to a full-blown 4-day golf tournament. It is vital to remain comfortable throughout the duration of the game to maintain a consistent performance. Golf clothing should be light and comfortable with enough room to move comfortably during play. A slightly vainer factor to take into account is how you look to your contemporaries and other players on the course – if you look good, you’ll feel good and that will increase your confidence and performance on the day.

Standard lines of golf clothing includes trousers/shorts, shirts, sweaters, fleeces, waterproof suits and suitable headwear. The addition of high performance membrane-based materials like GolfTex by Palm Springs offer exceptional levels of breathability and lightness, with the additional benefit of longevity and the ability to dry quickly in the event of a light shower; whilst the build-up of sweat in warmer conditions can be easily prevented by wicking moisture away from the skin. Golf fashion still maintains the overriding factor in the latest designs and styles of golf clothing; in recent years the influence of other brands such as Nike and Adidas has lead to the incorporation of sporting elements in golf clothing to enhance the player’s performance on the course.

Golf Clothing – Breathable Waterproof Suits

Offering exceptional levels of waterproofing and breathability these suits are designed to protect the entire body from the shoulders down from the bracing elements associated with playing golf in the United Kingdom. This item of golf clothing is lightweight and can therefore be easily stored in one of the many pockets found on the majority of today’s golf bags. The waterproof membrane used in most breathable suits is designed to repel water droplets – allowing the material to dry quickly between showers.

Golf Clothing – Golf Sweaters

A golf sweater is highly recommended in case of sudden weather changes to provide extra warmth and protection against the wind. Sweaters are available in a variety of materials and in a variety of styles including full length or polo-necked.

Golf Clothing – Golf Shirt

Most golf course dress codes require players to wear a collared shirt. Tennis shirts and button down shirts are usually acceptable, but most players opt for a cotton or micro-fibre polo shirt. Golf polo shirts can be just a simple top, or it can come with new material technologies designed to keep you cool and fit perfectly through each moment of your game.

Golf Clothing – Golf Trousers

While most clubs permit men to wear tailored golf shorts, you should check to see whether only trousers are allowed. Women’s golf dress codes usually allow for knee-length shorts or skirts.

Golf Clothing – Golf Headwear

No matter what the weather is doing or is forecast to do, some form of golf head gear is recommended. A wide brimmed hat is usually the most versatile option, providing sun protection on clear days as well as cover from rainfall during wet weather.

Golf Shirt or Nothing?

From the earliest days of golf, golfers attired themselves in a fashion that has been distinct to golfers alone. You see them in the earliest photographs, some even in woodcuts, posing at a high swing whacking a ball.  the earliest times of golf, an outstanding and almost traditional look for golfers is the common adoption of golf polo shirts. Since then, it has been the norm for golfers, men and women alike. Over the years, golf shirts have been dominated by the polo shirts in terms with purpose and design. Polo shirts had been the trademark for most golfers. Conventional styles of shirts have adopted the concept and style of the classic and traditional design varying only in the use and addition of new touches to the shirts.

The collared golf shirts have retained its popularity amount the even more popular 100% cotton golf shirts (most are combed cotton) are the favorite for they are proved to give much comfort and allows the player for free body movements.

But nowadays, the accessibility for multi-fabric golf shirts is providing golfers new options for adverse weather conditions like comfort and breath ability. These fabrics assures every golf player of comfort while playing.

Obviously, golf shirts come in different sizes and colors but at almost the same style as the classic one, though there had been some changes in the styles done over the years. Some are Hawaiian inspired, others have long sleeves, and you can find striped golf shirts. These are but simple examples but take note of this…they come in hundreds of hundreds of names. This isn’t really that big thing but may have bearing on the in choosing your shirts. So the best thing to do before buying one is try asking the store sales representative for information and advice so as not to get confused.

Golf shirts must be comfortable. It must give you the same comfort with any kind of weather conditions and not only when it is fair. Though there is absolutely no single shirt that can provide you all the comfort you like, there are manufacturers who attempted to do this. Innovations made by Adidas Golf, Callaway Golf, Nike Golf, Cleveland golf have brought newer and better designs plus comfort and versatility, prices may range from to over .

If you are fond of personalizing your golf shirts, there are many golf store out there that may help you in doing this. They will be able to provide you with personalized prints. They may do embroidered shirts and add some art works in your golf shirt.

In the case that you would want to save some money when buying your golf shirts, you can check on those that are marked on sale. They will be able to give you discounts and other promotional packages.

On the other side, second hand stores are now rising into popularity. It is astounding to find that these shops sell many unused and even brand new golf shirts. Some which still have the tag prices attached on them and at the very least, the plastic attachments are still on.  These are rare cases but they are worth the visit. You may save a fortune on them.

Golf shirts are also great things to buy for a gift. Beside from being relatively cheap, they can be of sure great value to the owner. Golf shirts are may not improve the quality of your game but it will give you a relatively comforting feel while putting on the green.

Sports footwear manufacturer HI-TEC have launched what they claim is the world’s first ‘environmentally friendly’ golf shoe – the Enviro. This product sets new standards for sustainable footwear design and manufacture.

London, UK (PRWEB) February 25, 2008 — As people become increasingly aware of the effects that their purchasing decisions and lifestyles can make on the environment, HI-TEC has responded by creating a golf shoe made from 99% environmentally sustainable materials.

Traditionally leather is tanned using chrome – which when absorbed into the body through drinking water can cause damage to organs including the liver and kidney. In some areas of heavy leather production, drinking water and aquatic life has become seriously polluted by chrome use. To help counter this, the Enviro is created using chrome-free, organic vegetable-tanned leathers.

To complete the picture, the shoe’s outsoles are made of rice husks and latex rubber and the sockliner is made from 100% recycled materials. Only the spike receptacle remains ‘not green’ although HI-TEC’s engineers are confident that soon even this will be made in a sustainable fashion.

Fredrik Sundstrom, Global Golf Director comments, “Whether it’s being ‘green’, ‘recycled’ or ‘earth friendly’, we are constantly being reminded about environmental issues in the media. Society wants to be more environmentally conscious and it is our responsibility to provide products that fit this demand. The world is definitely changing and we want to push our golf division to be more responsible for the earth.”

“The Enviro was a fun but incredible important project to work on. This development represents the present and future of creating products. As planned, we still maintained a classic type upper and kept the high level of comfort that consumers expect from our footwear,” comments Sundstrom. “If it weren’t great looking, lightweight and comfortable our customers would not buy our product. One thing we were sure about was not compromising for a ‘story’ however the results are phenomenal, a World first!”

The Enviro has a 1-year waterproof guarantee and is available in men’s sizes 6-12 (inc halves) colours Black and Brown. Due to a high demand, HI-TEC are also launching a white version for the summer.
